the patch
There’s a box of nicotine patches sitting here. Jamie was going to start using them yesterday, but he wasn’t ready. Wasn’t ready today either. Maybe tomorrow… the decision is his.
I know he can do this. He doesn’t like change, but I am sure he would like having more change in his pocket when he no longer needs to buy cigarettes. When he feels like starting, he’ll do it, and I’m here to support him all the way.
Any tips for heavy smokers trying to stop? I quit years ago, but I did it cold turkey with no problems.
more reading; plus prayers & warm weather needed
I have finished all of the Stephanie Plum series. (number books & between the numbers)
Last night, I started Manhunt by Janet Evanovich. I did not go to bed until it was finished. It was a quick read, a good read, but I felt it was rushed at the end. It was still good though.
I’ve been trying to get into Stephenie Meyer’s The Host. I start to get into it, and then get sidetracked and find it hard to get back into it again. I think I need to start it back at the beginning again when I have time to read deep. I was having too much trouble with it and that’s when I put it aside for another Janet Evanovich book. (lighter and fun)
On another note, please keep my best friend, Sasha’s dad in your thoughts and prayers. His name is Dave, or as we call him, Grandpa Dave. On Saturday, April 11, he was life-lined to Indianapolis with a severe stroke. He had surgery that night (middle of the night/early morning hours) to stop a brain bleed. He is doing well now, but still in ICU, still in pain (in his neck from the incision area and nerves being messed with). The final diagnosis has yet to be given, but the family is thinking it was an aneurysm and not a stroke b/c of that brain bleed and b/c Dave can remember details, move his limbs, talk, etc. This is a very trying, stressful time for the entire family. They are traveling 2 hours each way to stay with him, each of his kids taking turns staying during the night and day with him. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
I’ve been in a funk. A lot of headaches, mainly due to seasonal changes and sinus. Also spending a lot of my time doing nothing…except reading. I’m not knitting as much, not spending time online… I want warm weather. I want to go outside and let the kids be free in the sunshine and warmth. I want to sow my seeds into a garden. I want to build a salad table. (Check out Jason’s salad table…that’s what I want to make.)
Mother Nature, please give into my needs. (yep, it’s now time for begging and pleading)
It’s 3 A.M.
I must be lonely…
Yeah, yeah, we all know the lyrics to Matchbox20’s song…
I am not lonely. I have Stephanie Plum, Ranger, and Joe Morelli keeping me company until 3 o’clock in the morning.
It’s been this way for 3 days now. Sad? Yep, I think so, too. But entertaining it is. I am ready to start in on book 6 of the Stephanie Plum series as soon as I get dressed for the day. I think today I will walk on the treadmill some while I read. Make it more worth it to waste another rainy, cold day doing nothing but reading (until I have to clock into work in 90 minutes).
motivation
I am now a fan of Stephanie Plum. I really enjoyed One for the Money. I am now onto the second book of the series.
Joe is tugging at my heart…
As for the rest of my life, I finished my web site draft. There’s still things I need, like fixing padding, adding embedded music (required) and maybe adding or taking out other pictures. Not for sure yet.
Sher needs to get her tooth pulled. It has a hole in it and she has a nasty abscess around it. She’s on antibiotics and will be on them until after the tooth is pulled. I also have to push on it to drain it several times a day. Not fun for either one of us, but I do see it improving.
We’ve been invited to go out East this summer by Teneik and Shaune. I figured it up and it’s actually going to be pretty cheap, as long as gas doesn’t go up too much before then. We can drive it in the car for less than $70 each way. If I pack a cooler of food, drinks and snacks for the drive both ways, we can avoid fast food and junk food and save even more that way. The kids are pretty good travelers, too. Charge the PMPs, GameBoys, and grab a few movies for the DVD player (along with something for me to knit) and we’ll be all set. Now, all I need to do is pinch pennies (work more hours) and talk it over with Jamie (you think that might be a good idea? lol) and we’ll be on our way to a family vacation with friends. I am hoping work keeps up for Jamie so that we can really do this. Our first family vacation.
Motivation will be kicking me in high gear now
